Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of WeGotFiles, operated by Web Design AS (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
1. The service
WeGotFiles is a hosted file-transfer service. You upload files, we deliver download links to your recipients, and the files auto-expire on a schedule you choose.
2. Your account
- You must provide an accurate email and keep it current.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by your team members.
- One person per account; sharing credentials is not allowed.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service for anything prohibited in the Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate it.
4. Plans, billing, and cancellation
- The free tier has size and retention limits as shown in the pricing table.
- Pro is billed monthly or yearly via Stripe. Plans renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancel any time from the account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; no pro-rata refunds for partial months.
- Prices are in NOK or EUR depending on your locale. Norwegian VAT (25%) applies to Norwegian customers and may apply in other EU countries depending on B2B vs B2C rules.
5. Service limits (quotas, file sizes, retention)
WeGotFiles is a file-transfer service, not a long-term backup or hosting product. The numbers in the pricing table — transfer quota per period, maximum file size, retention days, recipients per send — are operational parameters, not contractual guarantees of capacity.
Our intent is to keep these limits as generous as practical, and to raise them as our capacity grows. We reserve the right to adjust them when needed, but the reasons are narrow: protecting the service from abuse (for example, accounts using it as a substitute for cloud storage or CDN), keeping fair-share capacity available for normal senders, infrastructure cost, security, or compliance with applicable law. We will not lower limits arbitrarily or to push users toward higher-priced plans.
- Free tiers (Guest, Registered): limits may be changed at any time, including without prior notice. Changes never apply retroactively — files already uploaded keep the retention period that was in effect when they were uploaded.
- Pro (paid): increases to limits, bug fixes, and changes that do not reduce the published limits take effect immediately and require no notice. Material reductions to the published limits will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect; if such a change would meaningfully reduce the value of your subscription you may cancel before the change date and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the current billing period.
- Fair use, all tiers: the service is intended for transferring files to recipients. If an individual account is being used primarily as private storage (for example, re-uploading the same files repeatedly to extend their retention, or sending bulk transfers only to addresses controlled by the same person), we may apply lower limits to that specific account, or ask the account holder to switch to a more appropriate product, before adjusting the published limits for everyone else.
6. Right of withdrawal (consumers, EU)
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have 14 days from the start of your subscription to cancel for a full refund — unless you explicitly waive that right to access the service immediately. By starting a paid subscription and using paid features within the 14-day window, you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost.
7. Content ownership
You retain all rights to the files you upload. We claim no ownership over them. You grant us only the limited rights needed to store, transmit, and deliver them per your instructions.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee any specific uptime unless agreed separately in a written SLA. The service is provided “as is”.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost revenue or data loss beyond the most recent backup.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these terms, the AUP, or applicable law, or if your payment is more than 14 days overdue.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes shall be resolved by Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett), unless mandatory consumer-protection law gives the consumer the right to sue in their country of residence.
