WeGotFiles for individuals
Send a large file without an account, or with a free one, and know what happens to it.
You want to send holiday photos to a friend, a video clip to a teacher, or a scanned contract to your landlord. The file is too big for email, and you don't want to sign up for anything just to get it done. You don't have to.
Send without an account
- Drag the files onto the send page, or tap to choose them.
- Enter the recipient's email address.
- Tap Send.
The recipient gets a link and downloads without an account. Without an account you can send up to 3 GB per 14 days.
Are the photos on your phone?
You don't need to move them to your computer first. Tap Add from phone on the send page and scan the QR code with your phone's camera. The files you pick on your phone show up in the same transfer on your computer. Then tap Send there.
With a free account
A free account gives you 5 GB per 14 days and 5 GB of folder storage. You also get a contact list, so you don't have to type addresses again, and folders that stay until you delete them.
When it's something personal
- Set a password. Turn on Password under Options before you send. Give the recipient the password by text message or phone, never in the same email as the link.
- Choose when the link expires. The default is seven days. For something personal, you may want to pick a shorter time. After it expires, the file is deleted.
- End-to-end encryption requires Pro, and the recipient must have set up their own keys. See End-to-end encryption.
What happens to the file
Files are checked for malicious content before the recipient gets them. They're stored encrypted in the EU, and never used to train AI models.
What you can see yourself
- Once a file is uploaded, its row gets the "Stored in the EU" check, and "Scanned before delivery" until the virus check is done.
- At the top of the send page are the badges for what we promise: virus-scanned, stored in the EU and never used for AI training.
- With an account, you can turn on email when the recipient downloads, under Account → Profile → Notifications.
